Finally some days above 60 degrees.  There is a faint cast of green on the lawn and the trees are begining to bud maybe there is hope for warm weather and, and, AND THE GARDEN!!!

Well, in a show of great faith that there really will be a summer this year, I have excitedly begun my garden plans, complete with starting my own seedlings.  Why bother?  Well, I usually spend about $ 200 -$300 .00 on plants each spring.  My budget is hurting, so for $40.00 I was able to buy all the seed, the soil and potting supplies. Ten days ago my daughter and I put the potting soil in the peat pots, followed the directions on the back of the seed packets,(careful not to plant too deep) place in a warm sunny room near a window, water about everyother day, and its a miracle!

Here they are, my seedlings after just 10 days.  They consist of tomatoes, zuchini squash, pumpkin, peppers, basil, cantalope, and for the flowers, zinnias, impatients, and marigolds.  Each morning we run into the sunroom and marvel at the new growth.  Not only are we saving money, we are really having fun!

Below is the new deer fence that will protect my new garden and my new seedlings.  The vision is large plants with lots of tomatoes, peppers and basil, oh the Italian dishes we are going to enjoy!  Fresh garden produce, I can’t wait!!!!
