Nahm Tok 2 lbs boneless beef steak marinated, grilled, then cut into thin bite size slices 1/3 cup chicken broth 1/4 cup fish sauce 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice 1/4 to 1/2 cup water 1 teaspoon...

It is winter, after Christmas, nothing to look forward to.  This time of year in our family is called Janu-Feb.  The dark, cold time of year when there is little to look forward to until June if you live in the northern United States.  Sooooooo, what better to do than light the fireplace, put on a Jane Austen movie, (BBC, “Emma”, my new favorite)  and knit small projects. I have recently come...

Quick Knitting Idea

Knitting is a form of survival at times.  Not for the clothing I make, but for the time it takes up.  Sitting at appointments or waiting for kids at lessons it helps me to feel like I am not wasting my time. I came across a beautiful self-striping yarn at a new shop in town last week.   My kids seem to be into scarfs right now and I needed mindless knitting.  So for a very easy, but cute scarf:  Use size...

Knitting: A Great Pasttime

Knitting is my guilty pleasure.  I love to knit, I knit mostly sweaters for grandchildren now days, but my children seem to be between babies so I have spent a few hours, while watching TV, or at doctors appointment just knitting the “small stuff”, scarfs, hats, mittens, things that can be done in a couple of weeks by just spending a few hours. I recommend the website www.knitpicks.com to you for...
